Couple/Wedding FAQs

How much does it cost to hire you as a wedding photographer or/and?

The cost of a wedding photographer can range from affordable to exorbitantly expensive, but on average, it ranges from $850 to more than 20k.

The cost depends on the photographer by experience and the location of the wedding.

Do you shoot destination weddings?

We do! We will travel to where ever you need us. You just cover transportation and hoteling.

What do most wedding photography packages include?

Most wedding photography packages include the following:

  • An online planning meeting in advance to discuss your wedding with your wedding photographer.
  • A certain number of hours with your wedding photographer, typically 2 to 12 hours. On average, 7 hours.
  • Editing and retouching of the photos.
  • We delivered edited wedding photos anywhere from 200 to 1400 finished digital files.
  • Some types of online gallery photos and an online ordering system so you can order prints and enlargements of your wedding.
  • Your wedding photographer will deliver your photos via a Google Drive electronic download.

Optional items that your wedding photographer in your package are the following:

  • A second photographer
  • A videographer
  • Live stream of the ceremony.
  • Engagement photo shoot with your wedding photographer.
  • A custom-designed wedding album.

How do you price wedding photography packages?

In general, we base our wedding photography on a few criteria, including how long we are there; how many photographers we are bringing; the location of the wedding i.e., is it far away or close; the size of your wedding, for example, do you have 20 people or 200; and finally are we including a print and enlargement package or album; and are we bringing a videographer.

Are 6 hours of wedding photography enough?

From our experience, 6 hours of coverage with your wedding photographer can be a perfect amount of time for your wedding. Last year we did 58 weddings, and the average coverage was 7 hours. Six hours should be sufficient for your typical wedding. If you have multiple locations on your wedding day, such as getting ready for one location and the guys are getting ready at a 2nd location, ceremony in one place, and reception in a different location, this would require many more hours with your wedding photographer.

How many pictures should you get from your wedding photographer?

We tell our clients we will deliver at least 70-100 high-quality edited photos per hour that we are shooting.  You would receive at least 120 edited images per hour if we had two photographers.

Do photographers eat at weddings?

Most clients fee their wedding vendors when the time commitment or contract is 4 hours or more. We do not require this in our contract, but most of our clients provide a vendor meal. Most wedding venues offer a discounted price for vendor meals you can provide for your wedding photographer.

Do wedding photographers give all photos?

In general, no. Part of why you’re hiring a wedding photographer is for us to go through all the photos we took.

You don’t want the photos where people’s eyes are closed, or the flash didn’t go off, or you have an embarrassing look on your face. It is our job to go through them and select the best. But rest assured, we will choose every photo and edit and retouch them for you.

Do wedding photographers retouch photos?

Yes, your wedding photographer should edit and retouch your photos. We include standard editing with all weddings.

Standard editing includes cropping, alignment, exposure correction, contrast, white balance, and color correction. With close-ups of the bride and groom, we will do red eye removal and teeth and eye whitening.

How important is a second photographer at a wedding?

We believe a second photographer at a wedding is beneficial. One photographer is sufficient if you have a petite, short, one-two-location wedding. Suppose you have a long wedding or multiple locations on your wedding day. In that case, a second wedding photographer is accommodating, and you will receive photos that just one photographer cannot achieve.

How long do I need a photographer for my wedding?

It depends on what you’re planning for your wedding day. If you are doing a simple elopement with one hour on the beach, you may only need one hour with a wedding photographer.

If you have more than 100 guests, four locations on the day of your wedding, and you have hair and makeup starting early that day and the party going until midnight, you probably need at least 8 hours with your wedding photographer.

Where do wedding photographers sit?

Wedding photographers and videographers do not sit during the wedding. We are usually walking around and documenting the event.

How long does it take a photographer to edit photos?

We are one of the quickest studios in all of NYC to deliver edited photos and edited videos. We tell our clients they will receive their edited content within 30 of the wedding day. Our main competitor is delivering their edited content on average in 3 months.

What kind of equipment do you use?

I am a Canon photographer and the camera I am currently using is a Canon EOS R5 (a high end, professional mirrorless system), DJI Mavic pro 2, Canon EOS Mark IV, GoPro Hero11.

Depending on the part of the day, I will have either one or two camera’s strapped to me for ease of access to different lenses.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L II

Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 usm

Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L

 Canon TS-E 17mm f/4 L

Flash light Canon Speedlite 430EX II

Do we really need engagement photos done?

We absolutely recommend that you do (in fact, we include them in almost all my full-day wedding collections on the house!) It is a fantastic opportunity to get a little more comfortable being in front of the camera, we get to have a little icebreaker time together before the big day, and you may even pick up a thing or two after hearing some of my directions while shooting to have in your back pocket for the wedding :) And you get some more beautiful photos! The engagement portion lasts much longer than the wedding itself, so why not commemorate it?

If all my friends and family will have their phones and some have cameras, and they can take pictures, do I need professional photography coverage for the whole day?

A professional photographer is definitely needed because this is your memory for you and your children and grandchildren for life. This all comes down to where you place value. When you have a professional wedding photographer you know you will be receiving high-quality, high-resolution (to be printed, put on canvas, framed, and so on) photos of your whole day. Every detail of your wedding you spent so much time, effort, and money putting together will be documented beautifully. A professional will anticipate the moments you may not even see coming, such as a surprise gift from a loved one while you’re getting ready in the morning or a toast you didn’t anticipate moving you so deeply. You know that they will be doing everything in their power to do your love justice and to photograph you in the most flattering lighting/setting/positioning possible. Aside from that, wouldn’t it be nice to let guests be just that, guests? They’re there to celebrate with you!

Why should we choose you?

Our best photographer always answers: Ha! Look at me. Because I’m 2 meters tall and I have blue eyes and… That is, of course, a joke.

But seriously, because we are not only professional photographers and videographers, we put our soul into every couple. We want you to feel the taste of the wedding cake and smell your wedding bouquet again and again while watching the video and photos we are creating for you. We want you to be delighted with your experience with us.
