This case is of an unusual refurbishment. The building was originally built as a third-age care home.
After changing owners, this project changed use and shape into a dwelling building.
The extension to the rear of the building allowed for its maximisation of the built allowable area. The
internal re-distribution and reduction in the number of staircases allowed an increased number of flats,
going from 10 to 14, and a considerable increase in the ROI.
Most dwellings were designed with significant architectural elements from the original building, such
as bay windows, chimneys, or arches. Those elements contributed to their character and value in the
market.
